SO
I'm just chillen in a gym with a couple hundred girls.
It's 1:38 am.
We were evacuated from our dorms.
Bomb threat... ya know.
Just the norm.
SWAT is scopin things out.
We walked past them when we left the building.
They look pretty intense.... lotsa big guys with moustaches
(which is OK, because you can have moustaches on campus, just not beards)
So yeah. Might be a couple bombs.
An RA came by our room to tell us that the school was on lockdown.
The conversation went something like.....
RA: "We're on a lockdown. Stay in your rooms for now, but we may have to evacuate."
Me: "Sooo we should probably....."
RA: "Yeah. Put on more clothes."
So we put on some sweats. And then we sweated. It was super hot.
And then we played apocalyptic music.... Gladiator fight music, to be more specific. Check it out:

We heard that the boys were being evacuated WAY before SWAT came to court us.
Roommate Emma: What's up with this? Don't the girls need to be evacuated FIRST? We're the
ones that need to repopulate the Earth!
Me: I KNOW RIGHT?? Boys' sperm is like unlimited, but... only SO MANY eggs!!
Facebook was rampant with status updates all the while. I had to pee, but I was afraid that We'd be asked to
evacuate mid-pee, or while tampon changing. Awkward much? That's not something you necessarily want to
rush, ya know? Emma was willing to take the risk, however. We know because we could hear her singing
from the toilet....
"open the gates and seize tha day, dont be afraid and dooooont delay"
We made a video to record our potential last moments and posted it on Facebook for our friends and family and our funerals
So then SWAT evacuated us to the Institute/chapel gym. Where we attempted to keep ourselves occupied... keep in mind, this was in the wee hours of the night
A Message from the University's President:
the mayor called the university's president and said there's a bomb threat on campus. some
students have been questioned, but they think it's a hoax. However, since they love us,
they're not taking any chances. Bomb-sniffing dogs are checking it all out. State troopers
are around campus and have the roads blocked so you can't get in or out. For the sake of
maintaining normalcy, classes will be in session tomorrow. I think he expects us to appreciate this.....
So yeah. We're just chillen. In the gym. Together. Waiting. So much excitement....
I still haven't done my homework....

A Poor College Student
Me: For dinner I had 2 cupcakes, 5 chicken nuggets, and tuna salad
Colin: Well that sounds like a well-balanced meal... sugar, mystery meat, and mercury

Oh, The Places You'll Go!
And the college adventure continues.....
This is potentially-probably the purchase I am most proud of. Three dollars at WalMart... Mini golf up and down the dorm hallway. It's more difficult than it may appear.
We have the best family home evening activities. Bonfire and roasting various food and body parts up Dinky Hill. (I'm eating a hot dog...)
FLUFFY BUNNY. They were faster than I was... so when they started spitting out their marshmallow's I started laughing and it totally spoiled my strategy. I'm pretty sure I would have won, otherwise. Yep. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

We get to go on field trips. How cool is that?!? This is at Monticello. Apparently Jefferson had a vineyard. The most interesting thing I learned at Jefferson's home is that his favorite color is hot pink. His bed cover and parlor are hot pink. Classy.
Spirit Week! Colin has no shame.
Concert Friday night. All the ensembles/choirs performed. It was fun. I did fall asleep during the penultimate number and I'm actually upset about it. Patrick and Colin keep it real.
Homecoming football game. We lost. It may look sunny (and it was), but it got SUPER cold. Such a long game....We had 20-30 minutes to get ready for dinner/the dance when the game ended.
Colin did take his face paint off for the dance. It was a condition. This is after the dance, after all the decorations were taken down.
And this post was my break from essay-writing soooo.........back to that..........

Spin On
Sometimes I wonder why the world keeps spinning,
Not understanding there's been an ending,
Not waiting for a beginning.
I know I'm there, I know I'll stay,
But still I get to my knees and pray,
Please, please, send me away.
Ignore my shadow, ignore my light,
Don't reach out, don't try to fight,
Let me, let me, leave your sight.
I hope your world continues without a seam,
I hope your eyes keep that gleam,
I hope this becomes not more than a hazy, faraway dream.

It's called a Ewe.
Colin was going to ask me to homecoming (at some point), but we decided that it was my turn to do the asking. Creative invitations are all the rage. My roommate used a scripture exchange, but this is what I came up with.
For those of you who can't keep up, here's the translation:
Deer Colin,
I wood bee happy if ewe wood go two homecoming & dance with me. Whattaya say?
The homecoming picture is a product of Microsoft paint. I wanted to just photoshop my face into a high school picture of him with an old homecoming date, but I couldn't find one (despite my legendary Facebook stalking skills.)
I had a guy friend tape it to his door while he was at lax practice, but he hasn't responded yet soooo.... we'll see what happens!

Clarification
It has come to my attention that an earlier post concerning bridge jumping could use some clarification....
NAMELY
I was wearing a swimming suit when I jumped. It was underneath my jeans, which I took off prior to jumping. I was not naked, nor was I in my underwear.
Thank you to those of you who did not question my integrity and modesty.
